Investing with Purpose
BlueDoor was founded with the singular goal to invest purposefully for its clients. As technological innovation has infiltrated the investment management industry, firms are increasingly using it to cut costs and provide generic products to clients irrespective of their unique needs. Our goal was to strip back the investment process to its core and ask the singular question of why are we investing these funds. For some it is long term growth while others seek the pinnacle of capital preservation. Framed in the context of our unique knowledge of each client we are able to craft a strategy around their needs and not our products.
Investments without Constraints
While many firms seek to place clients in easy to fill buckets and use generic funds or products as their core, we seek to build highly customized strategies centered around high quality investments. Our goal is to identify those high quality businesses that can form a core for clients over the long term and then supplement and adjust that mix for each client based on their needs.

Michael Kozak
President
Michael is the Founder and President of BlueDoor Private Wealth. Michael has over twenty years of experience providing investment, tax and estate planning advice to individuals, family groups and charities. BlueDoor was founded to provide highly personalized and independent unbiased advice to clients. Frustrated by the increasing focus on generic products and services, Michael wanted to create an environment where client solutions grow from a blank slate and not a product sheet. The core philosophy of the firm is that technology should be used to increase the firm’s ability to provide more specific, unique and sophisticated advice not simply be a tool to increase capacity.
Prior to founding BlueDoor, Michael was a founding partner of Little House Capital, LLC. He also served as a principal and Chief Compliance Officer of East Coast Asset Management. Prior to his time at East Coast, Michael was a Principal and the Director of Wealth Management with Cabot Money Management, Inc. in Salem, MA. While at Cabot, Michael was responsible for overseeing the wealth management and tax preparation services for the firm. He also served as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to Cabot, Michael worked for The Colony Group, LLC in Boston, MA where he provided financial planning services to high net worth families and corporate executives as well as estate planning services through the firm’s affiliated law firm.
Michael received his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in Anthropology and earned his Juris Doctor from Boston University. Michael is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and before the U.S. Tax Court. He also holds the Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®) designation.
In addition to his work with clients, Michael has been quoted in both regional and national media such as The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe. He has also appeared as a guest on CNBC and other news media. Michael is an avid writer and is particularly focused on the areas of estate and tax planning for individuals. In addition, Michael has a passion for the area of fiduciary liability and enjoys educating individuals, non-profit organizations, trustees and professional firms on how to fulfill their role as a fiduciary and protect their clients from fiduciary malpractice. In addition to his professional life, Michael is an avid golfer and soccer fan. Michael can be reached at mkozak@bluedoorprivate.com.
